Greg LaFave at the 2010 Glen Helen USGP

Greg LaFave, a local WORCS racer from Canyon Lake, CA, will be running the Vet Class at the Glen Helen USGP. With some hard work and good luck he put together enough support to get his bike mechanically ready and we donated some time to get his graphics up to par for an event of this magnitude.

He has been training like a possessed 40 year old, practicing, training...its dizzying. Regardless of where he finishes, we wish him the best and will be there rooting him on. Like I told him, there is nothing wrong with being lapped by legends...

The Race Report

Saturday practice went pretty good. Timed practice Greg had the 22nd fasted lap time out of 35 riders, not looking bad. Close to the end of the timed practice, he over-jumped the start straight jump and got very close with the cross bar pad. As a result he spent some time in the Asterisk medical unit and received 7 stiches across his nose. Black eyes are close to follow...

That could easily have ended the weekend. Not so! Greg picked up and made the first Vet moto on Saturday and both motos on Sunday finishing 29th out of 35 overall. I am positive he would have had a better finish if he hadn't had the face-meet-bars incident Saturday, but that's racing.

Great job Greg, way to tough it out. Congrats on being part of a great event.

Dirtrider Story: Greg sent a story off to Dirt Rider Magazine about his USGP adventure, its a good read, check it out HERE.
